Boral Stone Products today announced the launch of its new product Versetta Stone Universal Corner. As the only manufactured stone veneer of its kind currently on the market, Versetta Stone Universal Corner is designed for use on outside corners, inside corners and end wall terminations in conjunction with Versetta Stone flat panels.
“With the launch of our Universal Corner product, we have elevated the quality and innovation of Versetta Stone panelized veneer,” says Dave Mariner, President of Boral Stone Products. “The design of Universal Corner provides a better looking product with an even easier installation process.”
Versetta Stone panelized stone veneer was introduced throughout the U.S. and Canadian home building and remodeling markets last year. It is a non-structural, cement-based manufactured stone veneer that provides the look of traditional masonry with a modern installation method. The molding and color application precisely replicates natural stone including the subtle nuances found in nature. Versetta Stone is offered in two styles and three colors.
Versetta Stone panelized stone veneer can be used by general contractors for remodeling or new construction in a variety of interior or exterior applications. Versetta Stone is made of lightweight fiber-reinforced concrete and aggregate material with a minimum of 50% recycled content, which is validated by UL Environment. It is freeze thaw tested, has a wind load resistance up to 110 MPH* and a Class A fire rating. The product requires no mortar, no painting, coating or sealing.
Versetta Stone installs in courses using 8" x 36" panels that interlock with a tongue and groove mechanical fastening system. It can be applied in any weather. It’s designed for application over wood framing, spaced 16 inches on center and covered by a code approved, nailable sheathing product.
Installation of Versetta Stone Universal Corner is similar to installation of Versetta Stone flat panels, with a few exceptions. Unlike the flat panels, the backs of Universal Corner pieces contain channels that allow flat panels to be butted in without knocking off the side tongue. Additionally, a whole Universal Corner piece should not be used in the center of a course. Universal Corner pieces must be cut to create left and right corners and cut pieces should measure a minimum of 8 inches in order to achieve a staggered appearance.
