Los Angeles city officials’ recent approval of a major new rooftop solar program, the feed-in tariff (FiT), provides a huge opportunity to generate clean, local energy.
In fact, researchers have now calculated the citywide rooftop solar potential as being greater than 12,000 acres – nearly 20 square miles. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa will keynote the Los Angeles Business Council’s Sustainability Summit at the Getty Center tomorrow, where hundreds business and community leaders will gather to discuss both the FiT program and the future of sustainable development.
