Time is money, and this truism is even more relevant today, given the housing market and economy. Builders and developers have little time to waste on products requiring more manpower hours than they might recoup. They need well-designed, long-lasting products that differentiate projects without breaking the bank. With this in mind, Zephyr, the innovators of design-forward ventilation hoods developed their Quick-Lock island range hood installation system, which takes as little as 20 minutes to install.
Typically, an island range hood installation requires devising the exact rough-in (or ceiling prep) requirements with few guidelines or reference points provided by the manufacturer. Projects usually require multiple installers who have to hold up or maintain the finished hood and hardware while trying to attach to the ceiling and deal with electrical and ducting issues. Ultimately, this type of installation is labor intensive, requiring significant manpower and long hours, resulting in higher costs for the builder/contractor and, ultimately, the homeowner client.
With Zephyr's Quick-Lock system, the installer receives all of the required hardware to address multiple installation requirements, including a template to use for positioning the hood location and cutting through the ceiling. The vent rough-in and mounting location are clearly defined via the provided template, without the difficulty of having to position the finished product up to the ceiling. Zephyr's Quick-Lock bracket system (hardware) has been engineered for one contractor to install easily without a hood body in place. Once the bracket framework is in place and the project is ready for wiring and ducting, the hood body can be installed in only minutes. The Quick-Lock bracket system is perfectly aligned with the hood and it takes very little effort to finish the connections.
