Lightblock blinds feature an energy efficient aluminum coating on the exterior side that acts as a heat barrier, increasing energy efficiency by up to 20 percent, while also reducing heating and cooling costs due to the better natural climate control of the room.

Also available is a solar battery lightblock blind that provides the benefits of an electric blind without the added costs. Better yet, because they qualify as “photovoltaic property,” the Velux solar blinds qualify for a 30-percent federal tax credit. The solar battery lightblock is operated by remote control and charges automatically using only the sun. A single charge operates the blind over 500 times.
