Triple glazing was the word at the show when it came to windows. Milgard Windows & Doors was just one company touting its new glazing, which it offers in its WoodClad Series, fiberglass Ultra, and Tuscany Series replacement line of windows and patio doors.
The idea of triple pane is that there are two separate insulating air spaces, which provide higher energy performance with minimal cost increase for the homeowner. The product comes standard with dual SunCoat LowE glass and dual EdgeGardMAX spacers, which interrupt wasteful heat flow through the window.
Homeowners can upgrade to dual SunCoat Low-E glass, and in most elevations, argon gas blend for additional insulating performance and energy savings.
Milgard’s triple-glazing options meet or exceed current Energy Star qualifications and most Ultra, WoodClad, and Tuscany Series windows and doors meet the 2009–2010 Energy Tax Stimulus qualifications, and offer a full lifetime warranty with glass breakage.
