While staying in Las Vegas for the IBS show, I never touched a bottle of water. Instead of buying the $5 dollar bottle of bisphenol-A (BPA)-poisoned water in my hotel room, I used the filter on my hotel room refrigerator. And guess what? I didn’t die. Or even feel sick. Water filters work, and this one from Everpure is one of the better ones. I like this kitchen model especially, because it’s relatively simple, and removes all of the major water impurities you might worry about (including ones that affect taste.) The initial unit retails for $359 on the company’s website (replacement filters for $114.99). I’d like to see a side-by-side breakdown (for this and all water filters) of how much filtered water costs from the unit compare with bottled water, based on filter costs. Typically, filters are the hands-down winners.
