This differs from conventional ICF bracing where the primary contact is the vertical brace itself. ZONT Bracing uses 2x4s readily available on the jobsite, the brackets weigh approximately 7% of conventional ICF bracing and the product can be purchased for less than the price of renting conventional bracing, says the company.
ZONT Bracing is recommended with Fastfoot Monopour for three reasons:
1. The base of ICF wall is staked directly to ground through strongback, preventing wall movement;
2. Scaffolding loads are transferred directly to the ground through the strongback; and
3. Compression in the ICF wall is allowed through a slotted hole in the side of the Zont.
