According to PBS, its SIPs significantly reduce installation time (by about 2/3 for a typical framing schedule), jobsite waste (again, estimated at 2/3 of what would normally be expected from a framing job) and port-construction call-backs.
The strength of the prefabricated panels eliminates the need for a truss system, and the consistency with which they are manufactured makes for straighter walls--helping to speed the efforts of subcontractors doing flooring, windows, doors and other work.
