Furthermore, LP uses only low-emitting, safe resins as binder. All of its SmartSide products are engineered with zinc borate to help resist termites and fungal decay. In addition, longer product lengths reduce the number of pieces needed and because LP’s manufacturing process eliminates knots, it helps to reduce scrap woodpiles. Use of SmartSide products also helps projects qualify for certification points in a number of leading green building programs.
