This year's Green Home of the Year Award judging took place in the heart of Seattle. It seemed like the right place at the right time - a thriving, dense city, with an ahead-of-the-curve population, keenly interested in addressing climate change, living sustainably, and NOT following yesterday's rules. Our judges, a great mix of contractors, a designer, and a green building financial expert, were surprisingly unanimous in their selections. The projects they chose range widely in both style and utility, from an ultra-modern, modular infill home to a cutting-edge apartment enclave. Chosen from dozens of great entries, these ten projects have earned their places as stellar examples of next-generation thinking.
